Let's say insulation gets wet because of a roof leak, plumbing issue, or minor flooding. Some people recommend drying it completely if the damage is limited, while others believe it should always be replaced because trapped moisture can reduce its performance and eventually lead to mold growth.
Does the type of insulation make a difference? For example, fiberglass, mineral wool, cellulose, or spray foam?
I'm also interested in knowing whether you rely on moisture meter readings before making a decision, or if replacement is simply the safer option regardless of the readings.
